| The following pictures are taken from an advertising campaign
we made in 2000. The basic idea was to communicate the message
"Linux is a professional alternative" to a broad audience.
Therefore we hired a real penguin (the penguin is a mascot for
Linux) from a zoo, took him to our customers and made photo-shootings
with him in the customer environment.
We developed the campaign with Scholz & Friends, one of
the most creative communication firms in Germany. The award-winning
campaign ran in the German magazines "SPIEGEL", "Wirtschaftswoche"
and others.
Today I regard the campaign as way too costly and unefficient,
but in 2000 the venture capital model was based on getting market
share very quickly.

This photo was taken at a E-Business costumer of us. Real costumer,
real penguin. The basic theme was "Linux is price efficent".

This photo was taken at the Berlin Volksbank, one of the biggest
Banks in Berlin, located at the well known Potsdamer Place.
The scenario shows a real tresor room with real penguin coming
out. The basic theme was "Linux is secure". Click

This photo was taken at the German Government press office,
the first and last time it took part in an advertisement ever.
The scenario shows a simulated press conference with real penguin.
The basic theme was "Linux helps to communicate".
